Description
This two-day workshop covers De Gillett Cox’ unique techniques creating vibrant paintings of Australian Native flowers.
Learn a layered approach from Master Artist De and her daughter Ali, with breath-taking results.
De’s self developed techniques help you to develop beautiful transparency and illumination in your work as you build layers, contrasting transparency with opacity for stunning results.
We will be laying in the darks with a colour rub first, then stencilling across that with De’s flower stencils. You use the first layer to establish runs, spatter and colour variation, before obscuring the parts of the image you don’t want with opaque paint. The contrast of transparency and opacity is breathtaking!
The steps are: Gesso, colour rub, seal with binder medium, stencilling with and without spatter (Gesso soup) followed by glazing.
Beginner? Not a problem! Experienced artist? We can add some exciting new skills to your arsenal of techniques. Click through to the no-obligation INFORMATION PACKAGE to find out more about this workshop
